Adam York Named New Program Director at Kansas Sorghum

COLWICH – Adam York has been selected for a new position as Program Director for Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission and Kansas Grain Sorghum Producers Association. York joins Kansas Grain Sorghum with years of experience in federal policymaking with a focus on agriculture, energy and trade work. York’s leadership on staff in the Kansas Congressional delegation demonstrates his ability to implement effective strategies for engagement, advocacy, and expanded operational management.

“Adam impressed us with his maturity, energy and experience,” said Jesse McCurry, executive director of Kansas Grain Sorghum. “We are confident he is the right person for our team at this time.”

York has served as Legislative Director for Congressman Steve Watkins (KS-02) and as Deputy Chief of Staff for former Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) in Washington, D.C., with over half a decade of legislative and policy experience working in the U.S. House of Representatives. An Ashland, KS native with a farm and ranch upbringing, Adam holds a degree in History from Kansas State University. His wife, Erica, is an economist and Abbyville/Hutchinson native. They are expecting to welcome their first child – who will be fortunate to be raised a proud Kansan – into their growing family in the coming weeks.
