KS Grain Sorghum Highlights State of Kansas Sorghum Research, DropXL Trait Technology

DropXL Sorghum is a State of Kansas research investment to develop water-optimized sorghums to increase yields within drought-stressed environments. The research, which began as farmers’ vision for the future of their sorghum crop as well as their communities, is coordinated by State agencies and the Center for Sorghum Improvement, housed at Kansas State University.

The Governor’s 2021 Conference on the Future of Water in Kansas highlighted the topic and showcased progress on DropXL Sorghum to date, featuring stakeholders from grassroots, industry, academia, and the public sector.
